Class Overview
You’ve hopefully done plenty of writing in high school, but probably not like this. These are not reports where you can summarize your findings or poems you can analyze. These essays are about who you are, NOT your accomplishments. Most students hate talking about themselves because it feels like bragging, but there is a better way to show who you are without sounding conceited. Or I often hear “I don’t know what to write, there’s nothing special about me.” Regardless, this course will teach you how to write an essay the admission office will be happy to read (and hopefully admit you too!)
Warm up exercises
Since you likely have not written essays like this before, we start with some warm-up exercises to identify what is important to mention. Turning you loose with a set of prompts and no guidance is not productive.
Ipad or laptop strongly recommended
phones are not going to cut it for this one. Paper and pencil are also useful.
Online Attendance or in-person?
Courses are generally offered online, although in-person is available. Inquire for details.
